I was only trying to find out how many of us behaved like my wife...... she is the father Gandhi in real life and how many like me. We have had life long discussion on parenting styles, both holding on to their respective points of view. Time to prepare for handling grandchildren, now that kids are grown up.

I also felt that his dad was doing "emotional atyachaar" on Dr.Varun, ........" mental violence" of Dr. Manjit. This could result in the child living in the perpetual shadow of the parent, which the gandhi family seems to have done, with the exception of the eldest son of the Mahatma, who simply vanished from the gandhis' life.(i think ramdas gandhi was his name). ramdas would often accuse his father of doing emotional atyachaar on ba, his mother.

I also do not agree that pursuit of truth alone is noble. whereas from a social point of view, truth may be desirable, lying is important as well. even at the societal level, lies are important... .... imagine your soldiers blirting truths when caught by the enemy!!!!
