Moments Of Joy

Sitting by my ailing mother,76, (who has spent better part of the past eight months in hospitals), I heard her recount some of her childhood memories. Very simple, ordinary anecdotes which I might have heard several times before.

This time around, they struck me for their sheer simplicity and the impact they had on her. They sparkled up her face like I had not seen for months. She was sharing her moments of small joy and those of others in her life. I realized it is these small moments of joy that bring glow to our lives.

I share what I heard from my mother with you all, hoping they would make you recall your very own moments of joy. They shall be different, very personal to you. I invite you to share them with me, my mother and others.

I believe that by sharing your moments of joy with others, you shall spread joy and happiness all around.

I invite everybody ….friends, relatives and others to add to this pool of moments of joy. Moments that have made you or others happy. You might have experienced the joy yourself or heard from someone or read about it. That does not matter. Just share the small joys. I shall share with others and publish them, with due acknowledgements and gratitude. For they shall make our lives happier and this world, an even better place.

Kindly try to make the writings short and sweet.

To my mother who continues to give me more than I can give back.
