There is this TV serial on Colours everyday at 9 PM - Ye Pyar etc. The father is proud of his two daughters and has great belief that they would never lie to him. The elder daughter has fallen in love with the neighbour's son and the couple spend some time alone in a borrowed apartment. The father comes to know of this from another source. He still hopes that his daughter would come back and tell him the truth. But the daughter returns and lies that she was late because she was studying in the library. The father's faith in his upbringing gets shattered and he slaps his daughter in front of the whole family. Wonder what else he could have done under the circumstances. Wonder what the father (in Yadav's story) would have done in similar circumstances.
